Frazer McKechnie

Podiatry, BSc (Hons)

I graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with an honours degree in podiatry. Initially I spent several years working locally for the National Health Service where I found great enjoyment treating those with various conditions affecting the foot and lower limb. Without any intention of moving from this post, an opportunity to work closely with a team of vastly experienced podiatrists in North Wales and Cheshire presented itself. This being difficult to turn down meant leaving home but at the same time further developing my own skills and standard of practice. After a year away it was time for me to take the knowledge, skills and experience I had gained since graduating and apply it here in Helensburgh at Argyll Foot Clinic.

I pride myself in providing a high standard of care. I am confident in my knowledge of conditions affecting the foot and lower limb but also have the ability to apply this to people, leaving those I see feeling satisfied with their treatment. I love and am passionate about podiatry because I know that those who receive the treatment they need can have a happier and healthier quality of life.

Before becoming a podiatrist I spent 6 years working as a nursing assistant in almost every general and psychiatric hospital in Greater Glasgow. Additionally, I spent 2 years as a full time church volunteer in England. There is no doubt that the attributes gained from these experiences have transferred to my current profession.

Originally from the outskirts of Glasgow’s south side, I now live in Dumbarton with my wife and young son. We all enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing football and getting involved in local service opportunities.
